Lily took her first trip to the zoo today! It ended up beinga little hotter outside than we had hoped, but you can't really spend that much time at the zoo with a 1-year-old anyway! She loved the elephants, monkeys and bears. But most of all she liked the carousel ride!

Happy 1st Birthday to Our Beautiful Daughter!
What a year! We celebrated Lily's first birthday by having a sugar-fest at our house on Sunday. We started the day by waking her up with a room full of balloons. Then we had cupcakes and ice cream with about 20 different types of sugary toppings you can imagine (Oreo's, M&Ms, chocolate, strawberries, whipped cream... etc etc etc). She was dressed in her new alligator flats! So cute!

Are You Old Enough for That?
Lily is the only kiddo at Patti's daycare on Friday's. So needless to say she gets spoiled! Lily started music class on Friday mornings that Patti takes her to at the rec center. Jason went last Friday since it was her first class. She LOVED it!
Lily and Miss. Patti!
I also had to capture Lily pushing her walker... she gets stuck and just shakes it until we come help her turn around. Can't wait to see how she drives a car!
Don't worry, the bottle is empty, but for some reason Lily thinks any bottle (water, beer, soda, etc) are hers to chew on. We captured this little snippet... right wrong or indifferent!
Last but not least, we had to take the obligatory child-of-a-Nebraska-fan picture...

Grand-Momma Visit
My Mom visited for Labor Day weekend. Jason and I got a break to go shopping for Lily's birthday and to run a few other errands that we don't typically get a chance to do without having Lily along. It was a very enjoyable weekend... nice weather, a happy baby and quality time with Grandma.

Lily has become a sponge these days. She's learning so fast... saying momma, dadda, "hi"... mimicking everything we do... which includes a scrunched up nose after sniffing her shoes. She is taking several steps in a row when prompted but I can't say she's totally walking on her own just yet. And, her hair is long enough to fit into a tiny, itty, bitty pony! So many fun times to come in this second year of her life!
