Spring-a-ling-a-ding-dong

We have enjoyed some warm weather this spring!  Well, except for last weekend (the last weekend in April) when we got 6” of snow.  You don’t plant flowers until Mother’s Day in Colorado.

We got some spring skiing in which is always enjoyable because you don’t have to fight the weather.  We skied with my nieces over their spring break.  Jason taught them to ski and got all three girls to go on a lift!  My girls skied four straight days over our spring break.  We had a great season this year!

While skiing in the mountains, it’s warm enough to hike here in Denver.  In shorts!

We had such great weather on Easter that we spent all day outside!

My dad made it out to visit.  Grandpa is really good at cuddling and watching movies.  He got caught up on all his G/PG movies… Trolls, Moana, Zootopia, Secret Life of Pets, Boss Baby, etc.

We got one last taste of winter on the last weekend of April.  You have to play in spring snow as it falls otherwise it’s melted!

Come and Knock on our Door

Since January we’ve been doing our best to balance fun things with little projects around the house.  But in all actuality, Jason and I have almost as much fun with the projects.  It’s just our thing, I guess.

We celebrated my birthday although the hats didn’t make Gracie feel like celebrating much.

My mom came to visit and we took the train downtown for dinner.  I showed the girls where I use to work and tried to put into perspective the fact that you can see the building from our window at home.  They really could care less.

And skiing.  The girls have become pretty good little skiers to the point that Jason can take both of them by himself.

 With Emerson and Avery.

With Mason and Riley during our friends, Brian and Katey’s, annual ski trip.

With Brooke.

With Aunt Danielle.

All four of us even got a day together!

And just so Gracie would have the same treatment as our other girls, she was put in skis at the age of 1!

Jason got to take two dates to the Father Daughter Banquet at our church.  SO. CUTE!  He is one blessed daddy and I think he knows it!

Speaking of Gracie, she was suppose to be my perpetual baby.  But she’s not anymore!  She’s so big. Nothing baby about her.  But she has turned into a little toddler who would do anything to make us laugh.  I just watch her.  She’s just so cute.  She’s just my last!  Ug.

Yadda Yadda Yadda… January!

Moooovvvving.  Moving is hard and exciting and exhausting!  But we are now settled at our new home.  And we love it!

Since the closing date on our new house was December 5th and our moving date was December 21st, we decided to head to Omaha to visit our families for Thanksgiving instead of Christmas this year.  And ever since then, it’s been a whirlwind!

We took a full week so we could first go to Smithville, MO to visit Jason's sister and her family.  We stopped in Salina for a night in a hotel. And then to Maggie and Jake’s house to play with all their toys! Then to Omaha where Jason and I decided to actually get up for the black Friday sales at Nebraska Furniture Mart to buy some new furniture for our home.  It took A LOT of coffee!

Then a quick weekend at the mountain house before it’s rented from January through March. Our adopted sister, Julie, joined us!  Jason took the big girls out to find TWO Christmas trees… one for the house we lived in before Christmas and one for the house we lived in for Christmas!

Jason had a trip to Phoenix planned since before we went under contract on our house.  So just days before our closing he took Lily and Gracie to see his Grandma.

Then came moving day.  The girls woke up for school at our old house then walked home after to school to our new house!  Meanwhile Jason and I had a picnic in the park.

Since we moved three days before Christmas, Christmas breakfast was on a rug in the kitchen.  And Christmas dinner was at IHOP… yup… keepin it classy!  But it just didn’t matter!  We had Christmas just like any other year.  It was just in the middle of a heap of a mess!

On Christmas night Jason and I decide we had enough of not having a kitchen to eat in.  So we stayed up until 2am unpacking our kitchen.  But it was so nice to have a place to make coffee when we were woken up at 7 am by little voices!  Between Christmas and the time the girls went back to school after Winter Break we were BUSY!  This busy….

AFTER

We love our new home!  And are really excited to update it and make little (and big) changes to make it our own.  We have a beautiful eastern view out our window.  (If you zoom in you can see Denver.) Makes mornings bright… very bright!
