Whoa… Slow Down

Ummm… I haven’t posted since February!  It’s June.  I think that’s an indication of how busy we’ve been.  And by busy, I mean, we moved.  Nuf said, right?

March

Our former nanny, now proxy grandma, got married to her same husband for the 4th time again in March!  This time she got to wear a white dress and invited Lily and Annie to be flower girls!  Patti and Dave have been a huge part of our lives in so many ways!  We love them so much!  We recently got news that they might be moving to Casper, WY which just means we’ll be taking some work trips with Daddy to visit them!

Oh, our annual dance recital.  This year the girls took tap class.  It’s good practice for real dance class some day but at a price I can justify.  Sort of.

Jason's sister and her family came to visit in March.  It was almost 80 degrees in Denver but they were still able to get the kiddos up on skis!

Before our big move, we went on Jason’s president’s club trip to Charleston, SC.  It was great because it was the first time Jason and I have been away from the girls.  And it was great because the girls did so well at home with Grandma and Grandpa!

THEN WE MOVED.

April

We were able to pull ourselves together one week after our move to enjoy Easter.  Jason’s parents came back out to give us a hand.  We went to an Easter Egg hunt for our church and guess what… Lily likes cotton candy!  Who would have known! Ha!  She is so much happier now that she’s not on the keto diet!  Who can blame her!

Around 8-10 weeks of pregnancy they’re able to do genetic testing to screen for major abnormalities.  Since they’re looking at chromosomes, they know whether there’s a Y or X floating around.  So at my 10 week check-up my doctor asked if we wanted to find out the gender.  We didn’t find out with the other girls, but it just seemed unnecessary with the third.  So the doctor told us “it’s a GIRL!”  I screamed with joy!  And looked at Jason… he wasn’t able to make eye contact or crack a smile for about 2 hours.  I heard him mumble “I’m never going to get to watch sports again” and I think he may have said “three weddings to pay for”.  LOL!  He had his moment, but then decided he was going to be the world’s best girl daddy!  And he is!  He takes the girls on date nights and I can’t explain their excitement when they know they have a date coming up.  This time Annie got to go to the movies and Lily went bowling!  Daddy has a lifetime of date nights ahead of him! One lucky guy!

And when it comes to sisters, this little baby is so blessed!  Lily and Annie are so excited to be big sisters!  Although their suggestion for a name will likely be veto’d.  I just can’t name my child Elsa after a Disney princess!

May

Spring means time outside and thank goodness for that!  We had a cold, rainy spring.  But that didn’t keep us from going to the park.
Or fishing.

Or seeing a baseball game.

Or watching the rubber ducky race in Boulder.

When a kid is at a festival and there is a choice of any nutrient lacking food they could possibly imagine, why wouldn’t the kid choose corn on the cob?

As the weather got nicer, we got the chance to meet our new neighbors!  We have a 5-year-old and 2-year-old, Mckenzie and Ellie, who live next door!  A table full of blondies!
That brings spring and the school year to a close.  Lily is on to Kindergarten!  Which is so exciting but so hard to swallow too!  I just can’t imagine her anywhere other than Cornerstone preschool.  Two years ago she wobbled in just two weeks after getting her cast off her broken leg.  And out she runs a big girl!  Whether I like it or not!

We started summer with a trip to Vegas to see my Mom and Mark.  Then straight from Vegas to Omaha.  It was 100 degrees in Vegas which was great.  We were ready for the pool!

We took the girls out on a boat on Lake Mead.  It reminded Jason and me of our days in Kansas City and why we love the water!  It’s just so relaxing!

June

There are some lucky Grandpas in Omaha.  Girls just have a way of loving you!

Of course, a trip to the Omaha zoo.

Lily had a loose tooth for about 4 months.  She refused to pull it which meant it was left to fall out on it’s own.  It was there when we left Omaha, but somewhere between Omaha and Grand Island it fell out.  If you happen to see it, let us know!  Although I have an idea where it ended up.

We have some “camps” lined up for the girls this summer.  We had sports camp for a week while Jason was in Germany for work.  It gave me a couple hours each day and the girls got to play soccer, baseball and basketball.  It’s a little too early to tell if we have athletes on our hands.  But they looked cute!
Jason got home from Germany Friday night at midnight before Annie’s birthday.  So we got up, celebrated her birthday.  Then celebrated Father’s Day the next day.  Then had a small birthday celebration for Jason on Monday before he left for another work trip.  He doesn’t normally travel that much, but of course it lands during the busiest time of year!

I asked Annie what she wanted for her birthday this year and she said “ringlings” which are earrings. I explained to her what that meant and she didn’t care… she wanted earrings.  So I made the appointment and she showed no signs of wanting to back down.  As a matter of fact, she didn’t even cry!
We had a small get together for her birthday.  It was a tea party!  And the first time we’ve ever had real birthday cake!  It just wasn’t easily done when Lily was on the diet.  Now… cake, cake and more cake!!
I’ve had people ask for pictures of the new house.  I haven’t gotten around to that, but here’s a shot of our kitchen island.  Never mind the two cute, naked booties who are playing with play doh.  It’s THESE moments that just make your heart warm.  How blessed we are!  We have two beautiful, HEALTHY girls and another on the way!
