We went to Winter Park with the Chamblin’s in early February. They use to come visit every year for a ski trip but this was the first time in three years! We got both Lily and Annie on skis! Lily even took a lesson all by herself! They are getting more comfortable and, although it’s a lot of work, it was so much fun!
The best part is when a boy about 13 years old wiped out right in front of Lily. She stopped and immediately sang him one of her favorite Daniel Tiger songs “keep trying, you’ll get better soon”. So cute!
Neither Jason nor I have ever been ice skating. Since we belong to a gym that has an ice rink, we decided to give it a shot. Annie was a little timid, but we have to remind ourselves that she’s only 3! We forget so often because she acts like a 5-year-old and is as tall as most 5-year-olds but she’s still so little! However, Lily, made my heart overflow with pride! It wasn’t that she was good, because she wasn’t! She fell a whole bunch of times. But it was her unwillingness to give up that put me over the edge! She was pushing herself so hard. And she was happy - singing and smiling the whole time. It’s so nice to see! She’s my fighter!
Other news from the Clapper household…
Jason had his annual sales meeting in late January. During his meeting he found out that he made President’s Club this year! I’m so proud of him! It’s really rare for someone whose been at his company for less than 2 years. It means he and I get to go on a trip together - just the two of us! It’s in Charleston, SC this year. Normally it’s in the Caribbean, but his company changed it up this year. Which is kind of a bummer because I could use some beach, but honestly, I’m not sure I’d be comfortable going if it was in the Caribbean. That’s a long ways from home and from Lily considering this will be our first time completely away from her. It makes me a little nervous even in SC but Jason’s dad just happens to be on spring break the week we're gone, so the girls will be in good hands with Grandma and Grandpa.
Jason also found out he achieved another sales objective and the company is giving him another trip for two. We’re thinking of adding a couple other plane tickets for the girls and going somewhere as a family. But that trip is on hold until summer.
And if that’s not enough, while Jason was at his sales meeting he got an email from someone interested in buying our house. Yada, yada, yada, we’re now under contract to close on April 7th. We didn’t have to list our house and more importantly, I didn’t have to keep it clean for showings! I’d say that was a pretty productive week! We feel like God is just showering us with blessings right now! And we couldn’t be more grateful!
We leave for SC on March 22. Then we close on our new house on March 27 right after we get back. So we’re heading into a whirlwind for awhile! But it’s a good whirlwind!
