This and That...

Our friends Brian, Katey and their son, Mason came to visit for the weekend. We had a condo in the middle of Copper Mountain which was nice because skiers could ski and stop in to check on the kiddos anytime!
Downstairs from our condo... we were literally in the middle of Center Village.
Mason and Lily took a bath... Dad was REALLY uncomfortable with this!

I pieced together some videos from the weekend. We went to Crittertown in Copper which is a little play area for the little, little kids. Lily loved it! She literally folded in half when she was in the tubes!

Jason is bound and determined to have Lily in a pair 0f skis this winter. He wants her to be able to say she's started skiing when she was 1. For now, he just carries her down the magic carpet run.

Other bits and pieces from the past few weeks...

In a few weeks we'll be officially moving Lily from her crib to her big girl bed which means no more paci. Luckily (for Lily) she's also grown attached to her teddy and blankie.
It seems we have some work to do!
Lily's first nap in her big girl bed!

Lily has finally been pitching in her share around the house! I think she's nesting too because she's been cleaning everything in site! Either that or she is the product of two anal retentive parents.

Some how she can reach the paper towel roll herself.
She brings the trash from her room and dumps it in the kitchen trash. It's cute and sad all at the same time!

Isn't it Ironic?

We had our 20-week ultrasound on Wednesday. On the ride there, we were still undecided as to whether we wanted to find out if it's a boy or girl. Well, I knew I didn't want to know, but Jason was starting to think he'd rather know - if not at 20-weeks at least a couple weeks before the baby is born. (The 20-week ultrasound is you last chance to find out or have it written down so you can find out later.) However, as fate has it, the baby was all curled up and they weren't able to tell if it was a boy or girl. I'm sure there's lots of parents who would be leaving their ultrasound disappointed if that were the case. But for us, it just confirmed what we knew deep down we wanted anyway.

So, for all you who were eagerly waiting to hear, sorry... seems as though the baby is playing along with us! Good news is that it's only 20 weeks away and we'll all know!
It's little hard to see, but the baby is yawning in this video clip. Keep in mind, the baby is about the size of a banana right now. Just amazing...

A Weekend at Home = Tired Toddler!

We spent the past couple days at home... well, sort of.

We went to the Children's Museum on Saturday.
Lily got to be a pretend vet doctor.

But she enjoyed being a receptionist at the vet office more.
She painted with Daddy, but got a little frustrated - she doesn't seem to like being "dirty". Weird, I know!
She got to construct things, but that ended quickly - too many sharp things for a 1-year-old!

Her favorite was grocery shopping in the mini grocery store. She LOVED it!

And... the ride home!

On Saturday night we got about 7-9 inches of snow. Luckily on Sunday, it was beautiful out! Which leads to...

Jason went outside around 8am to shovel snow and didn't make it back inside until noon. The cul-de-sac got together and shoveled all the snow from the cul-de-sac into the Dixon's front yard to build a ski run.
(Click on the arrows at the bottom right to make the video bigger.)

The guys got pretty creative with their snow shoveling.

Finally, their hard work paid off.

But all that fresh air makes for a tired little girl! Even when the snow blower is running!

Lights, New Camera, Action...

I've been absent lately for a couple reasons. One, I've been recovering from and taking it easy since the holidays. And two, we bought a new video camera that we've been figuring out how to master. I'm feeling much better and seem to have a lot more energy these days, so you can expect to see more posts from me!

We've had crazy weather this winter (as the rest of the country). We didn't have our first snow storm until right around New Year's. Lily enjoyed a little time playing in it with Daddy...

And this is the sign that it was time to come in... rosy cheeks!

Last weekend we had 60+ degree temps. It was 60+ on Sunday and then dropped to -29 wind chill on Monday night. We have a cracked window to prove it! But the past few days have been spent inside where it's warm. Wagner has a new best friend whether he likes it or not. He's the first person she looks for in the morning and when she gets home. He gets more hugs that mommy and daddy combined!
Other than that, we've tried to capture a few of Lily's "words" on video. This is only a snippet of what she's been saying lately, but we'll try to get some of the others when we can get her attention long enough!
